Volunteer Participation Program

The Anderson Youth Soccer League Volunteer Participation Program (VPP) was developed towards providing a quality and positive experience for the players and teams in the league. With the VPP, parents are asked to pay a $10 VPP fee up-front at the time of registration. Then the VPP fee can be earned back by completing volunteer hours. Contact James Crandall / AYSL Volunteer Coordinator if you have questions jcrandall70@clearwire.net

There are various opportunities to serve the league in a volunteer capacity. In several activities the VPP fee is waived due to the ongoing nature or immediate delivery of the service to the league.

The VPP fees are waived for:

  • Coaching or Assistant Coaching AYSL Teams

  • Field Preparation - Lining, Mowing

  • Snack Bar

  • Sponsoring a team

  • AYSL Board Positions

Every family who has a child playing in AYSL is required to provide a minimum of four (4) hours volunteer service, per player. This service must be authorized by the League and approved by a Board member. Every family who is awarded a financial scholarship is required to provide a minimum of ten (10) hours volunteer service.

During the registration process, you have a choice of “buying-out” the $10 volunteer fee or volunteering your time to the league. For those who volunteered, thank you, we need your help. When you choose to volunteer, you pick a category in which to volunteer your time. The Board Member coordinator responsible for their various duties will be contacting you to set up a date and time to fulfill your obligation. If you do not hear from them, feel free to call or email them. Please work with them to make everything go as smoothly as possible. Enjoy and please make it a memorable season for the kids.

VOLUNTEER POLICY

Each registered player is required to pay a $10 volunteer fee. The fee can be waived if you serve four hours to the league with the Volunteer Coordinator's approval and signature.

With the exception of Coach and Assistant Coach; volunteer work must be at the league level. Your child will not be registered, and will not participate in any AYSL activities until you have chosen a volunteer role; or elected to “buy-out” your $10 fee. You can choose not to volunteer and to “buy-out” your $10 fee. You will still be responsible for your child's individual team volunteer needs as the coach request.

There may be more volunteers than needed for certain roles. In that case, volunteer roles will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. If you choose a role that is full, you will be contacted by the Volunteer Coordinator to choose a different role.

If you volunteer and do not fulfill you duties to the league, you will be penalized $50 at the next season registration and you will not be allowed to use the volunteer option again.
