Welcome our new League Trainer, Darby Anderson

Darby AndersonHe began playing soccer in 1976 in Placer County Ca. He was one of the founding players for
Placer United. He played four years varsity soccer for one of the most successful programs in the
Sacramento area. Darby played his college soccer at Sonoma State University, and was on the team
that was runner up to the National Champions.

He began Coaching and doing Summer Clinics and Camps during his college career. He began coaching
high school soccer in Denver Colorado for Cherry Creek upon graduation, coaching a championship
J.V. girl’s team. Taught and coached high school boy’s soccer for three years in Houston Tx. The
team he took over had won two games in the two years prior to his arrival and was able to lead
them to the play-offs all three years and the state final four two years. Coached junior high and
high school soccer (boys and girls) for three years in Santa Cruz, Ca. leading the teams to the best
seasons they had in many years.

During a year between Darby played semi-pro soccer in the Czech Republic, for Namosice F.C.. Then he coached three
years at Redding Christian High School leading them to two league championships and two section finals. He coached four
years at Simpson University leading the team to their best record ever and first trip to the play-offs. Most recently he led
West Valley boy’s team to the section finals for the first time in school history.

Darby has developed a speed, strength, and agility training program, which he has shared with many athletes. The program
not only improves players abilities in their specific sport, but more importantly, vastly improves their overall athleticism.
The response to his program has been tremendous and results seen by AYSL as well as regional soccer players has been
impressive. Darby and his wife Mellisa, just recently moved to Anderson. Darby’s little daughter, Triniti, is playing soccer
as well.
